Last year, I was flirting with falsies. For the entire year 2019, every 2–3 weeks, I scheduled a one hour touch up for eyelash extensions. Other than that — it was magnificent and maintenance-free. I liked my lash extensions; it looked and felt natural. I was saving tons of time and effort in the morning. Sweaty yoga class or ocean swim would not mess mascara, eyeliner, or eye shadow since I wasn’t wearing any. Until one day, I woke up with allergic contact dermatitis.
Goodbye eyelashes! And Bonjour Tristesse!
Unquestionably, eyeliner, mascara, and long thick eyelashes persuade the world that eyes, the main feature of the human face, look outstanding. Delboeuf illusion is when a dot is perceived bigger when surrounded by a larger ring; what happens when eye makeup is applied. It is not rocket science; it’s just mascara. Millions use eye cosmetics but nobody talks about how the use of different makeup products in such proximity of the eyes influences the level of comfort of eyes and ocular health.
